Plan For Your Grand Daughter

What kind of life would you like your granddaughter to live?

She’ll make her own, of course, but I’ve found thinking about what I wish for future generations of women in my family is interesting and helps me prioritize.

As for mine, I hope she’s wise, and kind.

I hope her youthful spirit stays alive and isn’t crushed (at least for too long or too far) by the world.

I hope she knows how to resurrect it when it does.

I hope she skips through shopping centers. I hope she’s faithful and optimistic. I hope she trusts herself and the gifts and messages she came in with.

I hope she sees all her suffering through the eyes of a powerful and loving God, and that she doesn’t struggle for too long before experiencing the flicker of curiosity, that leads to the relief of learning and the peace of understanding.

I hope she knows she can always count on me for guidance, love, acceptance and that she too, will live with her own ascendants in her heart and mind.
